Senior Account Executive

Location: Remote (East Cost, U.S.-based), with occasional travel for customer meetings

Poppy is looking for a self-starting, senior sales professional to help scale our breakthrough air monitoring technology to its first $2–$3M in revenue. You’ll join a fast-moving, mission-driven team tackling one of the biggest opportunities in real estate and energy: how we manage the air we breathe in buildings.
About the Role
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on landing and expanding accounts across Class A and B commercial real estate portfolios. You’ll be responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, engaging senior decision-makers, and closing strategic deals that deliver measurable value to customers.

We're looking for a proven B2B closer who thrives on selling novel, impactful solutions in emerging markets—someone who knows how to generate momentum and deliver results without needing a playbook.

This is a remote role with occasional U.S. travel for customer meetings and industry events. Preference given to candidates located in Eastern United States (New York, New Jersey, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta).

What You’ll Do

Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close for strategic commercial real estate opportunities

Identify and close lighthouse accounts that unlock future growth and market expansion

Execute an account-based sales strategy targeting CRE owners, operators, and adjacent players in HVAC, energy efficiency, and sustainability

Engage directly with prospective clients to understand their goals and align Poppy’s solution with their sustainability, cost-reduction, and compliance priorities

Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success to sharpen messaging, deliver value, and inform go-to-market

Clearly articulate Poppy’s unique value in terms of energy savings, HVAC optimization, health, and compliance

Provide frontline insights that influence pricing, positioning, and product strategy

What We’re Looking For

5–10+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally with emerging technologies sold to commercial real estate owners and operators

Proven track record of taking a new product from zero to $2M+ in annual sales

Strong hunter mindset with the ability to manage multi-stakeholder sales cycles and drive urgency

Experience with complex technical sales—especially SaaS, proptech, smart building, or decarbonization solutions

History of successful high-ticket, consultative selling into enterprise and mid-market accounts

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels

Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-growth environments, with the ability to adapt and iterate quickly

Familiarity with SaaS or technology-driven solutions in the built environment

Experience in ESCO sales, energy efficiency programs, or carbon reduction initiatives

Background in both startup growth and enterprise sales

Direct relationships in commercial real estate, HVAC, or building controls

Proven success with subscription-based product sales in early-stage environments

Experience selling into proptech, energy, HVAC, sustainability, or building performance markets
